I haven't written in a long time.
I'm still job hunting, but in the meantime have joined a production group. We have been selected to be mentored by Turner Studios and I get to enhance my skills in production.
It's been a great learning opportunity.

Guess i have time to make an entry now that i'm once again searching for income.
It sure isn't like the old days when you could just walk in a business and meet someone face to face and apply for a job. I really dislike the impersonal web entry process. How do I even know they got it? Also what's up with the "keyword" thing? They don't look at your application if you haven't entered the correct keyword that the computer recognizes and so will forward to H.R.-what is that??

Well, this last job as a...educational scholastic evaluater, as i call it(scorer) was interesting. At least I know it's not just me. There were lawyers, teachers, professors, scientists, all looking for work, and that $12/hr. job is what 300 of us found. You had to have a degree to even apply for the position and not only take a test to get in, also a test every day to qualify...what do those with a high school degree or not even that do? How do people who live "in the circle" of Atlanta survive, it's so expensive...

Whole Fopds no longer uses plastic bags, but they do brown bag you if
you don't have your own or don't want to buy their 99 cent reusable bag.
You can get .10 cents back on every bag you bring in and use though,

Atlanta Dogwood festival 08

Whoever thought it was a good idea to move this to Lenox Mall needs a
new job. I'm still shaking from the parking nightmare.

All the tents were set in the front and south parking lots.

Didn't see any Dogwood trees....

..however, there was lots of rain.

The Stonehurst Place Bed and Breakfast on Piedmont Ave. is undergoing renovations to be more environmentally friendly.

Beside the house the tanks will be filled underground.

They are installing a water reclaiming system that requires installation of two 1700 water tanks. The tanks will be covered by dirt and cement and will look like a normal driveway that nobody from above the ground will be able to tell the difference outside. The tanks will filter rain water and heat it with solar heaters, when the process is done, the water will be cleaner than ordinary tap water. The cost...estimated at $150,000. ....but no more water bills!

The Georgia World Congress Center is going to need major renovations.
Most of the glass surrounding it is shattered. The roof in many places
is destroyed.

It is TOTALLY cool lookin' up here. Unobstucted views of the city, the garage door that opens to the industrial/posh couches and modern chairs overlooking the view, and what must be THE world's largest fan above the bar in the picture above (no those aren't just criss-crossing beams, that is the fan). If you turn the fan on it would just barely miss the other beams in the place holding some of the many flat-screen tvs's surrounding you.

I'm working a story today where 2 people driving in a stolen car (they
had several days), crashed into another vehicle. In the innocents' car
both people were killed. A man going to his cousin's after work, was
dropping his friend off first. Never made it to see his cousin.
The perpetrator's passenger was ejected and her head was found in the
middle of the road. The suspect was hospitalized for a shoulder injury.
Grandmother of the deceased, innocent driver says living car thief
driver should be punished as severly as possible.

It's a new year and I feel this will be a good one!
I don't make resolutions, so feel free to read on.
I did eat blackeyed peas and gari with pepper, so that's a good start. Some of you are like, what's gari? It's a ghanian meal, white, large granular stuff like cornmeal, but bigger in size...
Anyway...
Also drank mimosas made with mango juice, YUMMY! You got to try it.
Then vegged with sis and watched parade all day.
Last night someone should've told Dick Clark to stay at home or not open his mouth if he get on television. He looked the same, but sounded HORRIBLE! Every time he opened his mouth to say some unintelligible whatever, It was like the grim reaper was offing him as we watched. ILK. Tell him to stay home next year, poor geezer.
Jermaine Dupri, shame on you! Using the Jacksons to make a quick buck. Of course Michael was a no-show. Janet stayed on a sofa, melting into the cushions. The "Jackson 5" stood onstage for about a minute and shook hands with 4 people while looking like they wanted to be elsewhere...so glad I stayed home and watched fireworks from my balcony in my pajamas.

I was late for the party, but it kept on rolling for those of us that worked late, but....Christmas at the Cortes' was really nice! Loooots of food, and their precious daughter has the deepest brown eyes that she constantly uses to keep a watch on daddy. I think she photography too just like daddy!

Was it Lost or Stolen?

So if you have a credit card that insures purchases for "x" days since purchase, mine was with hilton visa, how do you get it replaced?
First, it has to be STOLEN.
You need a police report.
Then they will file it and give you a replacement.

If it is lost, they call it, mysterious disappearance, they will have nothing to do with you.

Which leads me to ask,

If you "lost" something in a store and go back for it and it is not there, and nobody finds it, is the item then stolen?

I e-mail like I always do. One letter at a time...

My prodedure date was July 5, 2005. I was unnoticably nervous.

Anthony is soo cool, always the cool one, look how excited he is...

I got one eye done, my left eye (since I use my right eye to shoot and if necessary i could be blind in the left and still work (that was Anthony's philosophy anyway...)

I'm sooo relaxed, who's nervous? More drugs please...

After the surgery it felt sore and achy, near bedtime it hurt sometimes, like a twinge of pain, I think because I was watching tv with my good eye and it kept makeing the bandaged eye try to open as a reflex.

The next day, when the bandage came off. I pried my eye open very slowly, it was like waking from a deep sleep with lots of gunk medicine they'd put in my eye. It felt sore, but didn't hurt much. Dr. took the one stitch out (it was only in the corner of the eye and I never felt itmuch, like an eyelash before it gets in your eye being moved away.
I was soo excited the first thing I saw was my husband, after kissing him, I told the nurse, I can learn to swim now and go swimming for exersice with my friend Tracy! :)

Right now, after taking off the left bandage, my Dr.'s plan is to do the right eye in 2 weeks, then I'll probably have another 2 weeks recovery if everything goes well.

I WOULD work, but I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy, bend over fowards, or be around dust or anything that might get into my eye, no strenuous activity, which means, I can't work out either shux :(

Afterwards Anthony took me to the flying biscuit and we sat outside and I just kept my sunglasses on, then we went to check out IKEA and nobody looked at me funny.(it was soo crowded,even on a wednesday I think most could've cared less about me if I had 2 heads)... I can walk and see ok since my left eye seems to dominate. They took one of the lenses out of my glasses, but when I put it on I get a headache and it's very disorienting like I've got 2 glasses on.

so i can't drive, pooh...no shopping alone,
but I can walk carefully, my depth of field is bad, so I really have to be careful around stairs. Also if I look up or whip my eye around quickly it hurts since that where he cut into my eye (at the top of the iris), but you can't see how red it is there unless I look down and pull up my eye lid a little. That sounds gross huh? It doesn't look bad though.

My biggest concern is I think I was telling my Dr. how much I was in love with him when I was "under the influence" during surgery.

I hope my tv news team has fun covering storm damage and marta security without me, i'll think of you:D
